The day featured a wide selection of aircraft (both real and model), military vehicles, fire engines and stalls, we are very grateful to Everett Aero, for their support of the event in providing a superb static aircraft lineup featuring A Sea Harrier FA.2, Harrier T.8 and a Jaguar aircraft, we were very lucky indeed, as not many private airshows in the UK would be able to have such a lineup of aircraft.
The displays of military vehicles were provided by the owner of Bentwaters, Mr. Kemball, along with members of the Suffolk branch of the Military vehicle trust, and the East Anglia fighting vehicle group, and our thanks to all of them for a superb display.
A superb static and working display of fire engines was provided by Mel Skeet and all the team at Suffolk Fire Engine Services
Thanks also to Bury Model flying club who bought along an excellent selection of radio controlled model jet aircraft, which looked good on static display, and also flew 2 excellent flying display’s during the day.
A Sea king helicopter from nearby Wattisham airfield also called by and landed, followed by some fly pasts on departure, our thanks to 22 Sqn B flight at Wattisham for taking the time to support the day.
The flying display which lasted just over 1 hour featured a variety of aircraft, and was also unique in that the display featured a mother and son (Carolyn Grace & Richard Grace), ,and also a father & daughter) Maurice Hammond and Leah Hammond in the flying display, it was also Leah’s first public air show display in the Auster.
The flying display featured Leah’s Auster display, a nice formation featuring a PT-19 Cornell and a Stearman, both of Maurice Hammond’s Mustangs in a superb 2 aircraft display, displays from the Pitts special, the Dukes of Cassutt, and the finale of the display featuring the Grace Spitfire
The airfield bus tours once again proved
A wide selection of stalls featuring many local companies, and other museums, ensured a full days entertainment for the whole family.
Make sure that you do not miss the 2010 event, as we are planning a wider selection of aircraft and longer flying display, details of next years event will appear on this page later this year.
